In Florida we were standing at water's edge and a "rock" appeared in the water --- only it wasn't a rock. It came closer --- and we moved back --- and watched as it came out of the water and up an incline to bask in the sun. We kept our distance!
That is a hugh alligator. We have them down here. Sometimes they come up on peoples property, but usually if they are on some kind of water--lake, canal, etc.

I had a baby crocodile....I don't like them but somebody gave one to my husband, It was something awful, I did not know what to feed him and he just would not eat...it only lasted about two months.
Hi Patricia37, they love chicken or anything in the bird family. We had alligators in our back yard when we lived in Orlando. We had a lake in the back, beautiful sunsets too. Had quite a few wild animals in our yard passing through. Quails, deer, turkey buzzards, turtles, turkeys, possums, all sorts of wintering birds including our own Sandhill Crane and egrets. We also had all sorts of snakes, had to be careful walking outside. :)
