Avocado Tomato Premium Jigsaw Puzzle

My daughters love anything with avocado, but I have never learned to like them.

I've never been attracted to avocados --- not much taste.

Orinoco --- what else do you put in avocado salad? And what goes into the dressing? I need to try harder to like them!

I know what you mean nborchardt, I think it is an acquired taste. However I do love dip made with them. Hugs.

I love avocado peeled, sliced and cut into chunks with Italian salad dressing on them.

JAMP, I like to slice the avocados kind of thinly, along with tomato and very thinly sliced red onion. You're right, they're kind of bland, so go for a a nice sharp mustard vinaigrette or a flavourful ranch dressing. Toss in a green olive or two, some sliced red bell pepper, and serve on a bed of lettuce.
I also mash avocado mixed with a generous squeeze of lemon juice on wholegrain toast, and add a twist of my own mixed seasoning that I put in a pepper grinder: coarse sea salt, black pepper, oregano and garlic powder. Or you can use Japanese Sichimi pepper blend.

My own seasoning mix is nice added at the table, to winter soups and stews.

Just make sure the avocado is ripe without being over ripe. If the "button" on the top comes off easily and it's green underneath, you're good to go. Also, it should yield just a bit to gentle pressure in your hand--but shops don't like you to squeeze them.
