Good morning to all. Hope everyone is well. I haven't played backgammon for years. I remember years ago we lived in a big victorian house with a huge front porch all 6 of us would sit on the porch and play games during the summer...it got a wonderful breeze. Backgammon was one of the games we played along with triominos. We had so much fun. You all be safe.
My college roommate taught me the game. A navy submariner taught me the navy version called Acey-deucy.
My mother-in-law taught me tri-ominos (I could never beat her). I think it's more fun than any of the domino variants.
Our favorite game was Acquire (build hotels). We play it every Thanksgiving.

Thre were so many wonderful things to do without needing expensive software and a computer. I spent many hours just playing wiht a pink rubber ball or if there were a group jumping rope. For board games there were so many. My favorite was Chinese Checkers.

Abacii we also had a game called quad-ominos also. Was a very challenging, I have both of those games and a backgammon set. We were teenagers when we lived in the victorian, just before I left home at 16. Never heard of the game Acquire, sounds interesting. When my son was growing up so he wasn't on his computer every night we had game night once a week. Played many board and card games when he was growing, still do once in a while. Pixi I loved jumping rope when I was a kid....so many excellent memories. Be safe.

Never heard of quad-ominos. I used to work for the toy company Coleco. Part of my job was to play games from around the world. Those were fun days.
I started jumping rope in my late twenties. Took 3 weeks to get back into shape. I would jump on the racquetball court because of the high ceilings. Too old now.

Abacii quad is the same as tri-ominos just 4 sides instead of 3, also was harder. What a fun job, I would have loved it! Stopped jumping about when you started. I was way too busy, this almost sounds made up but the most fun job I ever had was working for 5 private detectives and 200 lawyers. Was always on the run doing different things everyday. That was before I worked for the court. I think I would rather work at the toy company now that I look back lol!! Am too old to jump rope now also, so lets sit back and laugh with the kids as they do lol!! Be safe.
My dad made a set for us. I never got that interested in it. It seemed to me to be very similar to Parchesi although the board is completely different..the little strategy you can play is how and to which pices you split your move.
