Had to make an unexpected trip to Colorado. My son was bitten by a dog about 3 weeks ago and it became infected. They had to amputate about 2/3 of the index finger on his left hand. Now they have the labs trying to discover which antibiotic will be most effective in killing this particular bacteria. They cannot let him go home from hospital until they know what meds to send home with him. Please pray for his quick, uneventful recovery. I will remain here until he no longer needs my help. Once he goes home I will most likely have no internet so won't be on for a while. Thank you all for your support and prayers.

What a sad situation! My prayers for healing and that the doctors find the perfect antibiotic for your son.

What a terrible thing to happen, nl. So sorry to hear it. The spectrum of antibiotics that are effective for different kinds of infections gets is still pretty good. Antibiotics administered via IV is more effective than those taken by mouth, so the extra stay in the hospital is well worth it. God willing, he will recover soon. I don't always read the posts, but today was moved to do so, and saw yours. Will be praying for you both.

You are very, very welcome, nl. How are the people in your locale doing with this CV crisis. Our governor has closed all bars, gyms, etc., and has asked seniors to isolate in their homes while the virus is spreading. Thank God for such services as Instacart, when they can find what you order! Hope this panic buying ends soon. Wish Walmart delivered prescriptions, but Walgreens has a drive up window. But, I'll wager the line and wait will be long, causing unnecessary idling gas fumes to further pollute the air. They are open 24/7, so perhaps it would be best to go very late at night. Not as safe, but what the heck is safe these days? Guess I'm rambling. Glad I have the puzzles to do to keep my mind occupied during a couple hours a day. Yesterday's puzzle took a long time! Take care and stay safe and well. Hugs.

My son is recovering enough that I could probably go home to California now but my daughter, who lives with me takes meds that suppress her immune system and her partner has a heart condition so is also high risk. I won't take a chance on picking up the virus at the airport, on the plane or in the bus going home so I will be staying here in Colorado indefinitely. Sure hope this scare passes quickly. I personally don't believe it is as bad as they are making it out to be but still don't want to risk being wrong. God bless and protect you and yours.

I believe it is as insidious as the media are portraying it -- a real killer for elderly and compromised immune systems, especially. The most dangerous thing about it is you can have it and transmit it before you experience any symptoms whatsoever and expose others to it. I think you are very wise to shelter in place. Here is a website developed to track the virus statistics worldwide -- a real eye-opener: https://covid19stats.live/

I like your attitude toward the virus, nlb. I won't be traveling for business or to see my mother in TX - don't want to bring a virus to anyone and really DON'T want to bring it home to my Dearly Beloved!

Has anyone heard from Aussie lately? I have not seen her on here for the past few days. I know she was having some health issues going on. Praying for her health and everyone on here is going through some tough times.

I heard from Aussie, March 4, 2020. She said she appreciates our prayers. Aknan sent a post to Elijah, workined and others stating - aussie is having a hard time of it right now. The doctors changed her meds and it created a whole slew of problems - actually put her in the hospital for a couple of days. Your prayers for her return to health will be appreciated!

Although I haven't been reading many posts lately, also missed seeing her posts. Hope she recovers soon, and will certainly remember her in our prayers. Perhaps she'll go back through the calendar and see how she was missed when she gets to feeling better
