Love bears! So massive and powerful! I don't want to interfere in their lives by trying to cuddle etc - I just want to know they are out there, in the wild, doing their bearish thing in freedom. :-))
I wouldn't want to either. And agree, he is a nice looking bear. I adopted a 9 year old rescue cat yest. He has already lived several of his 9 lives, but he is very sweet. His name is Leo.

Way to go Cindyj!! Not everyone is willing to take on an older rescue. Sounds like he got a great home, and I'm sure he'll repay you over and over in love.

Yay for rescued kitties (or any animals actually). Hope you have many happy years with Leo.

Cindy, I'm delighted you adopted a rescue cat! Especially as it's an older one; they need love and care so much - and as a very long-time SPCA committee member, I can tell you the older animals are hard to rehouse (everyone wants the cute babies) but all they want is a loving home. And they give so much love back!
Where do you live xyxy? An aquaintance of ours used to be visited by one regularly. He would go out and chase himaway from the house. They are not as agressive as grizzlies but I always thought him foolish to trust the bear would run away.

My brother had one on their deck one year at Taos, his wife was in the house taking pics & he was outside w/the bear (not by choice), used his car alarm to run it off. I have copies of the pics. I think it was a brown bear.

I don't like bears--even stuffed ones. When we visited Canada people would stop and take pictures of them but I told my husband to just keep going.

I live in Southern New England Pixi. While our area is suburban, we're lucky enough to have a lot of open space and nature preserves around my home. I really enjoy all the wildlife around us...but I agree w/you- I wouldn't try to cuddle the bears, coyotes, foxes, or raccoons!

When we lived in the Catskills a huge raccoon came to our front door and acted highly annoyed I would not let him in. Raccoons nested in a restaurant in the neighborhood and rendered the building unusable.
