I think they are pretty also
i was keeping my great great grandson when he was little
he asked me what kind of bird I would be
t said a woodpecker
he said he would be a blue jay cause woodpeckers had to work to hard
Years ago, I lived in the 3rd floor of a large house that had been converted to apartments. I would put seeds out on the ledge of one of the living room windows. I had ran out of seeds and didn't get any new seeds for a couple of days. The day I went and bought more seeds was when a blue jay seemed to be really upset at me - he was hoping around chattering at me and a male squirrel was hanging onto the window screen also chattering at me.
To me it looks like this little guy has scrunched his head down in order to try to keep his neck warm. He/she is certainly a beautiful little creature.
We have a lot of Blue Jays in New England. They are beautiful, but not friendly to other little birds.

I just posted my comment and was glad to see that you agreed with me about blue jays. I lived in New England for many years (three different times) and blue jays seemed to rule the roost.
