Haha! I worked at a store in the mid 70s that sold tight tight jeans - we would have the customers lie on the floor and spray the jeans with water so we could all yank them up on her. That's how tight people wanted them!
Love jeans for winter time but only with elastic at the waist--that gives room to breathe and expansion, which I am trying to avoid, but at 79 I don't care too much. I just want to enjoy the rest of my life.

Hapy for your contentment, Aussie. It is a state of mind I have seldom if ever found. I think a parent's attitude towards a person can indelibly shape that. My father loved me but was very demanding. He would set very high goals and my mother would say I couldn't (or shouldn't) try. It was a no win situation. She loved me too but they were opposite kinds of love. Makes you feel uncomfortable with yourself all the time. I know I have to leave that behind. They have been dead for years but I am still not settled in a place (spiritually/mentally)that allows me contentment. I think that is a life long struggle for those of us who do not have that gift.

Pixi, the dead, no matter how much we loved them, can't control our view of ourselves unless we let them. Bundle this all up and give it to God; He can handle it. Then go about enjoying the life you've been blessed with and strive to suit only yourself. I offer a prayer for your peace of mind.

Pixi, we had an afternoon this weekend where the sun just poured golden light down on us. It lit the leaves, the trees, the mountains - and I wished you were here to record it in a painting. May your autumn be a colorful one!

Don't know about the rest of you gals, but most of my jeans now are stretchy denim and have no zippers. So much more comfortable..I'm more for comfort than style these days!! Hah!
Jeans were my choice of pants in college. Now, in my early 60's, I really like twill, seersucker, and other softer materials. Of course, the younger people of today often choose comfortable clothing over more restrictive coarse fabrics and styles. My, how the times they are a'changin.
I have a few pairs of jeans with zippers - some fit pretty well, others will seem to fit pretty well until they start sliding down. Using a cane, it's pretty difficult to keep pulling your pants up.
