Let's put this hurricane on this plane and ship it somewhere where no one is. Just about ready for it. 95% of my preparations are ready. Just a few more things to do. My niece is coming over to help me finish the job! Hope the electricity doesn't stay off too long. All of Florida will feel this one! Was off for 6 days during the last one.
Wishing you a safe "trip" thru the upcoming weather.

Ugh, I might be out a few days if it's bad. We might need to provide shelter for those to the south. I really hope she changes her mind and goes to Greenland.

Hopefully it will follow the European model. I am prepared. I have been thru a few of these while living here and have never had any damage. I have furniture in from the atrium, 3 lights that will go on when electricity goes out, cats will have to have their little box in the living room--no carpet. Also have some other lights. If sun finally comes out, will be able to charge my phone and iPad. Have 2 portable radios. The only thing I will miss is my AC, but I have a fan that uses batteries. I am ready..

I will certainly be praying for your safety' as well as that of all people in hurricane affected areas. My question is...why do people continue living in these areas? The incidence of dangerous weather is quickly increasing, and shows no sign of lessening. It seems that some incidents of mass migration are definitely tied to severe weather changes. I'm thinking the approach of end times. Stay safe, Elijah.

Looks like it might go a little south of you now but anything can change, good to see you so well organized, we will all be praying for everyone in Florida.

Winter Springs? I must have been thinking of Parson Wayne. You sound really well prepared. We never lost power during Irma. As for work, they told us to expect a call to report to shelters starting at noon on Monday, which could change depending on the Dorian's fickle ways. I have to make sure I have my phone on and with me all weekend.

We really didn't get anything bad. Just looks like a normal day with, maybe a few wind gusts. Not even much rain.

Just got the 8PM advisory. She's moving past Cape Canaveral now. 110 miles from shore. If she doesn't turn a bit more north she could get closer to Jacksonville. We are all on standby for shelter duty, just in case she surprises us all and turns left. Looking good though. Glad you are not being badly impacted, elijah13.

Praying for it to turn more toward the north. We were very lucky in central Florida. Hope you get as lucky as we were.

Well that was a non-event for us, a bit of a blustery day today but otherwise normal, a little bit of rain and it feels fresh outside. I am concerned for the Carolinas, as it looks like she will come closer to them than she did to Florida, maybe even make landfall...IF she doesn't turn some more!
It ended up that they did call some people to start setting up shelters, but they never opened any, as far as I know...gotta get the skinny from my co-workers who were called up.

I pray that the Carolinas get thru this. This hurricane has been horrible and we never knew what it was going to do next. Too much uncertainty.
How appropriate! I will be flying away to Chicago tomorrow to see my sister and to go to my niece's wedding......I'm not sure how big the plane is, but this picture is just right for my trip.
