One of my favorite books growing up was titles something like "The Travels of Monarch X" about a program in the 1960s where scientists were tagging monarch butterflies to get a better idea of how they migrate from Canada and the northern United States to a small area in Mexico. There's a town in Mexico that has a festival celebrating their arrival each year.

I saw that on tv. they go to the same spot in the forest in mexico each year. millions of them! I think the show was an episode of Planet Earth. amazing.
