I love buterflies and moths, they are so many with diverse patterns and colours, with the underwing of so many totally different from the top wing.
Back to hospital on Monday for some tests and a disicion about the next stage, to hosptalise me or not.
God bless you all and keep you safe in His Love.
Dear Barbaranne, I do pray the doctors get this taken care of for once and for all!

Not yet I'm afraid aknan, both my legs are infected again and so it anti'bs and washes for the next fortnight, eeven a biopsy was not possible again, better luck next time.is what I keep saying to myself.
Very intricate pattern on the wings. Interesting fringe phenomena bordering the wings, also. Anybody know what kind it is and where it is commonly spotted?
Me either, haven't seen any butterflies this year, but did see a red cardinal this week. Finely got some rain here
so far this has been the driest April so far but this is really great today so far no lightening & just a study rain!
What have the girls been up too!

Elijah, this one is also colourful when it opens it wings, not in bight reds or blues, but in gentle colours, brownss and green with a silver wash on the underwing, if I remember correctly.

To make a complete ID I'd need to see the inside of the wings, but this is an example, I think, of one of the hairstreaks. If it's blue-violet inside it's a spring azure which was endangered at one time. They are tiny--the size of a thumbnail.

I tried to ID this butterfly but there are thousands of variations. The closest I saw in my too short search was at this site http://www.cbif.gc.ca/eng/species-bank/butterflies-of-canada/shasta-blue/shasta-blue-icaricia-shasta-minnehaha-male/?id=1370403265279
I didn't realize the butterflies, if blue were called "blues" and not hairstreaks.

A number of years ago, they were called "hairstreaks", pixi. That was in all my ID books, but that was just after we switched from slates & chalk to paper....
