My mother had a wonderful button box. Actually a large cookie tin.
It was the focal point of all kinds of games. "Find all the red buttons."
Find all the buttons which could be used on a baby's clothes.
Find all the pearly buttons. What fun we had!
What a fun idea JAMP124 and how lucky you were to have a great Mom, if that's who you played with. Never played anything with mine. My kids were older when I acquired my Mom's button tin though, so I doubt that a game like that would have appealed to teens. Too busy with friends. Anyway, enjoyed hearing about your button box.

Micki --- Another favorite with my mother --- we would ask her to "Tell about 'the olden days! ' " ---when she was a child! She never ran out of stories and we often asked for specific stories to hear all over again!

You are lucky to have such a wonderful history with your Mom!
I love this puzzle:) Made me remember of the collection of buttons my Nana, my Maternal Grandma had:) My took over the collection:) I now have the collection:) My Mom went to Heaven two years and 4 months ago:( Oh do I miss her:( Oh, guess what I do? I take the buttons off a garment before I toss it, just like my Nana and my Mama used to do:)
With todays modern art there is someone out there that would love your button box.I had one just like it and my daughter pounced on it, come to think of it I haven't seen any art results.HAHAHA
