When I moved into my newly built house, there hadn't been any other buildings in most of the area (unless it was Native Americans). My backyard was surrounded by 5-6 ft. block walls. A couple of different times I got to see families of quail march along the top of the wall, all in single file. Very cute! Haven't seen any for several years now. Guess the area got too civilized and crowded for them.
