When it rains, it pours. MORE PRAYERS PLEASE! In addition to my son-in-law's heart surgery on Monday, please pray for my brother in Florida. We did not grow up together so are not close and are slow communicating. He had a major heart attack on Thursday, went home doing well on Friday. I found out yesterday he had gone back to the hospital on Saturday with a severe viral infection the doctors did not recognize and never did identify. After trying several different antibiotics they finally found something that seemed to be helping and hoped he would be out of ICU soon. I was not aware he has had heart trouble all his life. He was born with a smaller than normal heart and kidney. Please add him to yourr prayer list. I was hoping this year would not be filled with one crisis after another like the last few have been but it does not look too good at the moment. As I said, when it rains, it pours. I am so thankful to have God as my unbrella and many prayers for my galoshes.
Nlb, I will definitely pray for your brother and also that God turns His attention to some other soul...

Nlb, I'm so sorry that everything seems to be caving in at the same time. Your anxiety level must be through the roof! Please try to find some time for prayer and meditation for yourself. Otherwise your health and sanity will suffer. I'll pray for you also.
As for your brother, I'll pray for his heart problems. My sister is battling heart disease, too. She currently is in congestive heart failure, but you can't tell by talking to her. Our mother passed away at age 58 of complete heart failure. My sister is 70, and she says that nowadays they give you a pill to fix things that our mom had to have open heart surgery for. Modern medicine is amazing! I pray your brother finds the same.
How is your son-in-law? Does his granddaughter have the flu? Hope everything comes to a positive conclusion soon! You need some rest!

Nlb, I know what you mean by 'when it rains it pours.' So do many of us on this list. You have my prayers for all those of your family who are in need of God's healing and love.

Thank you all for you prayers. How quickly God answers them! My brother's viral infection has been beaten and he is home and doing well - or as well as can be expected under the circumstances. My great-grandaughter no longer had an elevated temp two days after the 103 F scare so it was not this horrid flu we were afraid of and John shows no symptoms that might interfer with his surgery.
I know I am not alone in my struggles with family health and other problems, you all have just as many as I do. That's why I love this site so much - with so many prayers lifting our burdens to God I can truly feel a lifting of the load from my shoulders. Joyce, you say my anxiety level must be high but, seriously, when I have posted my prayer requests here and on facebook I feel a calm overcome me and know that all will be as it should be. Thank you for being a part of that.
God bless you all and may He lift your burdens and give you peace and healing however you need it

.So glad for the good news nlb. God is indeed good.
I'm going to have a grumble, the sun is lovely and the heating is to high I'm very hot unlike everyone else, it is so uncomfortable. I know that the old people need warmth esp when sitting ing wheelchairs and not able to walk around and it's not them, it is a Sister who keeps closing all the windows in Chapel and in the area where the sisters live and turning up the radiators, beunkind I think she is loosing it a little.
We had cherry pie for lunch today and it was lovely.
I have to run for we have a Lent lecture and I am going to be late, if I am Father will have something to say, and it not likely to be polite. God bless you all as you start this Lenten journey.
Barbaranne, as you may have read I'm heat intolerant so I know what you mean about getting too hot very easily. sounds like the other sister has the opposite problem. God bless you, too, during this Lenten season and always.
Looks yummy but what is the yellow around the cherries.

Such a shocker about the school shooting in Fliorida. So many awful things happening now.
Please say a prayer for those kids & their parents & friends. Also for this country - we obviously need them.

I think the cherries are pushed into a custard topping, aussie. This looks a lot like the cherry or plum torts my landlady in Germany would fix for Sunday afternoon - then everyone would go for a long walk to work it off!
God bless you all.
