Hope you are feeling ok. I just thought I would tell you that I love cherries and it is ironic for me that I did that puzzle today because yesterday I did some shopping at a grocery store that I don't usually frequent and bought a can of 'dark sweet cherries in syrup" that came from your home state (California? ) As I live in southern Australia they have traveled a long way haven't they. It says on the can they are 'machine pitted' and the brand name is California Healthy Harvest in Modesto Ca. God Bless.

Yes, I'm in California and Modesto is about 5 hours south of me. We grow a lot of fruit in California but I never thought about how far away we exported. So happy to share them with you. God bless you too. Oh, yes I was feeling ok when I did the puzzle, just slow.
I had a girlfriend when I was a teenager who wanted to make an apple pie for a guy she was sweet on, so she made the pie and it turned out great but no one told her that she needed to pit the apples, she said the look on the guy's face was something else.
So the next day she asked me what she did wrong, and that was when I asked her if she pitted the apples, she said she had no idea she had to. So I said next time she wanted to make a pie for this guy I would help her. It was funny, at that time I was working in a restaurant and making pies, but why her mom didn't help her I don't know.
At first, I thought that perhaps that these might be maraschino cherries, but, don't they have red stems? If these cherries aren't pitted, there are going to be people calling their dentists pretty quickly.
