Another bad tummy day. This is becoming a weekly event and I'm losing weight. Was down to 98 then got back another pound. Probably be back to 98 after today.
Not feeling good about food just now or snow (it is snowing today).
Time to hit the randoms again.
Stay well all.
I am sorry to hear you aren't feeling well, Pixipixil. I will add you to our prayer list. Hope you are feeling better, soon.

Thanks nborchardt. This week's gut scour wasn't as bad as last week's. It saps my energy but at least I wasn't running to the john all day. Tomorrow should be much better.
I found the prettiest random of cross-stitched roses and spools of thread.

Thanks so much trynfindit and ichiban. It makes eating a bit of a worry. I try to stick to stuff I think is "safe." I sure miss spicy food. No tacos, chili, pizza, Sechuan, beans. I do what I can and it makes it hard to know if I'm "sick" or just the usual upsets. I've been going to a gastro for many years. My list includes lactose intolerance, IBS, diverticulosis, reflux and tortuous bowel. It seems one or the other is acting up.
You both stay safe also.
Just a bite of this would be fine. Don't care for chocolate cake. Just got thru making 4 chicken meals that I am freezing. Weather overcast today with some rain expected. Got new windshield wipers yesterday so all set. However are quarantined so only go out when necessary.
It's cold this morning 36, might make to 67 for the high today!
Our son surprised us yesterday, he will be here today and then gone ago in the afternoon back to Texas.

I am glad you were able to get everything done that you wanted to outside the house. We had a ham dinner tonight and left-overs today and ham in the freezer for later. Nothing goes to waste. Blessings elijah13!

We love having a baked ham and having leftovers. One of our favorite meals from leftover ham is a big pot of ham and white limas (with onions and mushrooms). Yum.

I have never heard of white limas.....I must look for these. I can't eat onions because my body just rejects them! Thanks for the new food, trynfindit and is your husband doing well?

White limas are a dried bean; they come in large limas or small ones. I boil the beans 4 times, draining and rinsing the beans between each boil. When I put the beans on to cook in a panfull of water I put the ham bone in with them. Since you don't eat onions, just saute a nice panfull of mushrooms in some butter or margarine. After the beans have started to soften add the mushrooms and as much chopped up ham as you want. Add salt, pepper and garlic powder to taste and let the pot simmer until the beans are soft giving them a good stir every so often.
My hubby has been flat on his back for about 6 weeks now with a pinched nerve in his spine that also has the muscles in his right thigh tight as a knot. He's got a virtual appointment with his back surgeon on the 22nd to talk with him about it. Thanks so much for asking about him. He and I both really appreciate it. Hugs.

When I said to put the beans on to cook in a 'panfull' of water that should be a POTfull. I use a big stew pot because I cook them for 3-4 of us with a good bit left over for the next day or so. The size of the pot will, of course, depend on how much ham and white limas you want to cook.

Trynfindit, my Dearly Beloved is suffering with the same thing as your husband is - a pinched nerve on L3, complicated by a slipped disk. The spinal epidural didn't work, but PT is helping some. I think surgery is in his future - do hope the docs can find something to help your dear man! Prayers and hugs!

20 pound loss sounds good, but I'm not sure I'd care for your spa treatment, aussie…..
Oh the memories. When I was in college, I used to make a chocolate cake using a mix, eggs, and a can of Queen Anne cherries mixed into the batter. When the cake is done but still hot, you pour a package of chocolate chips of your choice over the top and spread it around as they melt. Great stuff for parties.
Here in Spain we don't have all the canned fruit and stuff you can get in the US.
Orinoco--Is Spain like our state of NY where the virus is terrible in the more inhabited areas but not so bad out in the country? Where are you? How is the outbreak there?

I know what you mean. When I lived in Honduras, all cakes were from scratch, pie crusts were hand rolled, and we used jello for "frosting"!! Bendiciones, Orinoco!
trynfindit
Apr 20, 2020
Nborchardt, how does one use Jello for frosting?
orinoco
Apr 20, 2020
If I remember right, you pierce the finished cake all over and pour the cooling Jello over the top. It soaks in and some stays on top so when you chill the cake you get a top layer of jelly. Mom used to cover that layer with Cool Whip, which sounds gross to me now.

Absolutely correct, Orinoco! Whenever we had a pot-luck one of the American teachers would always beg me to make this. My daughter and her partner love this, also, for dessert.
