Like pixipixil, I'm not a lover of cookies. Prefer cake or pie, if anything. Actually, I'm really not a sweets lover at all. Like salty snacks, more than desserts, too much so.
Not a cookie monster myself, but liked the puzzle.
Did you finish sending your Christmas cards yet? Me neither. I have at least a dozen to go and one overseas I have to stop at the PO for a stamp to send it.
Hoping you are keeping calm as you ready for the holidays.
I started really early this year and I have everything done except for baking some things and I will wait until it gets closer to the Big Day. Blessings, pixipixil!

HI Pixipixil, Also not much of a baker of late. Just don't eat that many cookies anymore. Don't have as many people to give them out as presents as before. Baking will be minimal, maybe 2 batches; one of spritz cookies and one bar batch, maybe some chocolate chip cookies...I replace red/green M & Ms for the CCs. The tree is still a work in progress, putting the ornaments on a few everyday. Christmas cards are almost done with letters, 5 left to do. Europe ones are all gone, they must have arrived by now. Getting it done and getting ready for my sis to come in next Saturday. Getting excited. :)) >^-^< Have a great day. It's going to be 70 deg. here today! :)

I have just about everything done. I made a lot of my gifts and still have 2 to finish. Will start my baking next weekend. My great-granddaughter will be here and I hope she will help me.

Christmas cards done, presents wrapped. Just have one more pair of socks to come and we'll be ready. (The socks: I've always loved the pictures of a regular sock hanging from the mantle, so a few years ago I started buying cute pairs of socks for my kids [even though they're grown] and a granddaughter who's local. I roll up one of the socks, stuff it into the other sock and put goodies in each sock and hang them from the mantle. When they get their socks off the mantle they just keep the pair and I repeat the process each Christmas. The themes for the socks are things each of them likes, foxes, puffins, penguins, snowflakes, etc.

Sounds adorable trynfindit. That's something I bet they'll do for their own kids. You may have started a tradition.

Tomandray I don't know how but I omehow didn't read your post. I hope your sister's visit is wonderful. You are better at getting out cards overseas than I am. I managed to send one to my NZ friend early enough but I just got one off today to my brother-in-law in Korea. Be lucky if his gets there by Epiphany.
My mom used to make pecan bars. They were nice and chewy. Most cookies aren't. I think that's why I'm not fond of them. Are your bar cookies pecan bars?

Hi Pixipixil, I'm now more of a bar person. Easier to make. Used to make lots of cookies, but those days are gone. I have RA, so limited in what I can do. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Ours was good, very busy. Got home late last night from our trip to Orlando, exhausted...went straight to bed. :)) Have a great day.

Thanks tomandray. Glad your Christmas was good.
Ours was too. Went to see Little Women. Attended Mass Christmas Eve.
Tomorrow I go for a cervical biopsy. Prayers appreciated.

Thanks for the prayers tomandray. I needed them. It really hurt. They don't give you any type of anaesthetic and there they are clipping pieces off from your insides. I won't know the result for four weeks. I'm so glad it's over. Feel fine today.

Good luck with the cervical biopsy and I follow tomandray's lead in asking you to let us know what they find out. Prayers for a clean bill of health.

Oh Pixipixil, I know what you mean. They don't give any kind of aesthetic, I've had that procedure done a couple of times. Plus have had pol lips removed. No joy there. Hang in there Pixipixil. Will continue to pray for you tomorrow.

Tomandray, trynfindit and nborchardt--Thank you so much for your prayers and support. Will let you know when I hear. If the doctor waits for my appt in Feb it probably is a good sign I think.
I'm with you Orinoco I'd be wearing more than the cookies lol!! My hands are not steady enough to do this kind of work, there wouldn't be a straight line on one of these cookies....they would look like I was drunk and I don't drink lol!! How are things in Spain? Hope you and your loved ones are well and ready for the holidays. Be safe.

I'm with you orinoco. I have given up making sugar cookies because I am such a messy baker, so I have found a recipe for making cookies out of cake mixes and that fits me to a "T"! I know, old and lazy and I can live with that judgement!! Have a great day, orinoco!

I just buy the ones you break apart and bake. They are in the refrigerated section of the store. I believe they are Nestles.

I enjoy the baking of cookies and sweet breads to give friends for Christmas. I just don't do this kind. Too much work and too much mess!

Darambo, one cake mix (not pudding), 2 eggs, 1/2 cup vegetable oil. Beat with electric mixer for 2 min. Form into soft balls and place them on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 14-15 minutes. Cool completely. I do believe it makes 2 dozen. When rolling them into balls, I use plastic gloves. I have some and it is easier. You can put any decorations on them that you would like to do. Happy Baking!

We're fine over here, got some scattered thunderstorms yesterday and blessed rain! Today is clear but they say more to come. Hubby says that strangely enough in his 74 yrs it has never rained on Dec 24 or 25, though they have had fog.

Orinoco glad you got some much needed rain, hope the expected rain falls. This is our first Halloween that it was dry....no rain or snow. Had snow at the beginning of Oct., but had melted by Halloween and we have lived here for almost 25 years. Looks like we will have a white Christmas as the temps have been below freezing so the snow is not going anywhere, hope we don't get anymore of it. Be safe
Will be making sugar cookies, gingerbread men and scones to go with our Christmas brunch (which will include finger sandwiches, fruit salad, zucchini bread with brown sugar butter, fruitcake and a few other things. I've also got some eager requests for that buttermilk pecan pie I made at Thanksgiving.
No Christmas cookies this year for me. My husband and I would make them and give them to some of the people at church. I just can't bring myself to do it. Hopefully, next year will be different.
Did you finish sending your Christmas cards yet? Me neither. I have at least a dozen to go and one overseas I have to stop at the PO for a stamp to send it.
