Jingles, what is the temp there in Indiana? You are not all that far from me, I'm in Michigan. It is 19 right now with a wind chill of -1. Way too cold for this early in the season. It is still 4-1/2 weeks until winter!

Can relate to that we, usually don't get snow until around Chistmas or after, we had a windchill of 16 here and out houses are really not built for that, had to drip the water to keep the pipes from freezing. Up to 44 now at noon, but our average temp for this time of year is way above that!

It was 6 above in northwest Missouri this morning. Guess I should be glad it wasn't 6 BELOW! That will be here soon enough.

Think this maybe a long cold winter, every place they were showing were having record low's for this time of year.

I also grew up in KS. Didn't have one there but the cabin in Taso canyon had one & the bucket of water would have ice on it in the morning, also many of the scouts camping area's had them. Cold in winter & hot & smelly in the summer!

Hi CatLady. I grew up east of Dodge City. I also remember the tornados. Everybody here think it's funny when we get really dark clouds with rain and wind because I get all nervous.

I grew up in Great Bend, but also lived in Topeka and near Ulysses (a couple of years in each). Have been near way more tornados in OK than in Ks, and & really get nervous (we live between where the 2 big ones when thru) now, I'm a complete mess. Our weather radio is on all the time year around.

God Bless you all and have a good day. It is very, very cold here in Indiana. The sun is shining, snow on the ground but very, very cold.
