Free online jigsaw puzzle for adults and kids of the Cologne Cathedral at sunset. The bridge and cathedral are illuminated for the evening and shine brightly on the Rhine.
I've been there - it's a very beautiful cathedral that was almost destroyed during WWII - and, I think, it took centuries to build. I had to look it up - construction started in 1248 and stopped in 1473 (unfinished). Work restarted in the 19th century and was finished in 1880. For 4 years, it was the tallest building in the world. It took 14 bomb hits during the war, but the spires remained and were used as a navigational aid for Allied bombers. The largest bell weighs 24 tons.
When I was there, it was during the previous refugee crisis in Europe - when Yugoslavia was splitting up into 6 different nations, plus, in Germany, it was shortly after their reunification.

Thanks for the historical information. I adore touring old cathedrals, whether on video or in person. The stonework represents the best that humble men can offer God.
