A colorful bouquet of chrysanthemum flowers are the feature of this online jigsaw puzzle. The macro photography clearly shows the delicate inward curl of each individual petal.
We still need prayer for my sister. The swelling in her arms and legs is gone and her color is returning. She is still on the iv drips for the anti-everything and her blood pressure and there's still the blood clots to worry about., but her nurse and I saw a marked improvement.
But not according to Michelle Sanders, DNP, ACNP, FNP, BC, Nurse Practitioner with Enloe's palliative care program.
She said a lot of things, but in a nutshell what she stated was that Brenda has been in the ICU for a while now (she's been in there for one week) and she still has an infection. ( Well, yeah. It took them 4 days of hit and miss before they found out what was wrong). She kept harping on "Quality of Life" and what Brenda's would be if she was released. And that "if" is where I started to get angry. She said that if Brenda's infection doesn't start to heal in another week, they are going to request that I give them permission to stop the aggressive treatment. In other words, just let her die. I WILL NOT LET THAT HAPPEN!
Enloe's palliative care program is actually their hospice program, but they obviously don't know or care what hospice is designed to do. Hospice was created for terminally ill patients who have less than 3 months left to live and want to die at home rather than in an institutional setting. It was never meant to be assissted suicide. But talking with other people, who have been involved with their families in Enloe's program that is what it is. In their program, they admit the patient to their "comfort room" where they are denied food and water and given pain meds until they starve to death. That's not going to happen with Brenda. I will forcefully remove her from their ""care" before that happens.
That is criminal, Fropo! Hospice is supposed to comfort people and ease the way to a peaceful death, not deny them food and water and be doped up, essentially left to die alone. Can your sister be moved to a different place or can she be returned home with visits by hospice? I am praying for both of you - and awful as it sounds, praying that regulators will come down on Enloe, HARD. Please file a complaint with the authorities, whoever monitors these facilities in your state.

They have been investigated and it has been found that they are within the scope of care defined by the Medical Board of Ca. Fortunately, we will not have to make that decision as thanks to prayer warriors on multiple fronts, her condition has improved to the point that she has been moved from the ICU to a private room. Her blood pressure has stabilized and cultures of the gallbladder bile have come back negative for the fungus that was clogging the ducts. She still has a slight infection, but her white blood count has fallen dramatically. The CT scan she had yesterday shows the 2 blood clots in her lungs and the one in her leg are still there, but they have not moved. Praise be to the Almighty. And thank you, everyone for your prayers.

Thanks to God! Will still keep praying that the blood clots dissolve. Your poor sister has had a very hard time (some of it unneeded, I think) and hopefully rest will help her.

Thank you. I've been away for awhile. My sister is out of the hospital, but she has decided that for the time being to become a semi-permanent resident of the nursing home where she was recuperating. I agree. She still has the drain to her gallbladder that must be flushed twice a day and there are still the blood clots to worry about. In the meantime, I ended up in the ER with an infection that has resulted in another bout of acute bronchitus. This has made it difficult to visit my sister as she is 30 miles away. Thank you, everyone for your prayers..

Prayers that the bronchitis is getting better quickly, fropo, and more, of course, for your sister. At least she's made some progress since you last posted.

Don't grow these up here anymore. Slugs not only ate them to the ground, they also devoured my marigolds! I now plant only flowers that slugs don't like!

What do you do with your egg shells when you eat shells? I use a mortar and pestle to crush mine up then spread them around vulnerable plants, slugs and snails will not cross over them and gives the plants a chance to live!! Give it a go Aknan, it always works for me. Hugs.

They ignored the eggshells. Used coffee grounds. Had slugs hyped on caffeine. Used human hair. Had slugs hyped on caffeine wearing fur coats. Even tried beer. Came out the next morning and found the beer gone and the neighbor's Yorkie asleep by the pan. Drunk dog. I was afraid the SPCA would come after me! Marigolds all gone. Am using SlugGo and haven't seen a slug for 2 or 3 years. (Knocking on wood...) Hugs.
