My hands could not handle that needle anymore. Too stiff nowadays. Pretty and enjoyable puzzle.

Wow....never knew what aida cloth was. This puzzle showed me a new way to embroider. Guess one is never too old to learn something different.

Wondering what the symbols mean on the paper that the embroidery yarn is attached to? So much about sewing I am in the dark about. I just had other interests growing up.

They are the codes for the colors of the embroidery thread, this usually have a graph of the symbols that shows which colors goes in the graphed base the picture is that comes with it.

The squares are gridded and & each square is gridded with a hole in each square and you will make an X stich in each small square. Some of the kits are color coded on the base but this is one that has the separate instructions. I've done some of both types. It's a type of embroidery.

Used to do this, but not anymore. On to other things now. Also, no place to put them when they get finished. Quick puzzle to do.

That no place to put them hits home. I have almost a hundred pieces of fine art I've done over the years. Those are really hard to store. Haven't done any stitching since my 20's. Nothing ever came out. I'm too sloppy.

Not having a way to store things can happen pretty quickly with things like stretched canvas. Even if you are able to occasionally sell a painting, they pile up pretty fast.

I guess that's why "serious" artists opt to let gallery owners take advantage of them. I won't go into the times I stuck my toe into that swamp. Living in the northeast and being plein air the number of pieces I do per year are very small and so far the house has been able to accommodate them but it's reaching the breaking point now.
Deciding if you are a "great" artist is always an enigma. At best I hope to be noteworthy some day since I am too conventional. The avant garde stuff doesn't appeal to me.

I used to do this but now I knit more. My cross stitch has been assigned two drawers. Yes, two! My knitting takes up a third of the master bedroom. Then I have another room that has my computer, desk and lots of yarn! Learning how to crochet, or I should say re learning so that will take care of some yarn. As will my knitting loom adventures. I do like crafts lol

I also like knitting, I have a lot of it to do as I am making about a dozen scarves for Christmas gifts and also knit for a hospice care center.

Thank you so much for your gifts to the hospice. Those warm items help so very much.
