I love orchids! In 2015 my youngest sister had a heart attack and passed on. The school where I was working at the time gave me a lovely orchid plant that had 2 blooms on it. I didn't kill the plant!! which for me was a blinkin' miracle! The 2 blossoms fell off, as orchids do and nothing happened. Then the next year, right before her birthday 3 buds blossomed just as beautiful as you can imagine. I have often thought that was her sign that she was fine and loved her 3 sisters even in the next life. I love orchids!
Lovely thought, nborchardt! My mom has 3 orchids, has had them for several years. She puts 3 ice cubes in each pot every Sunday - that's all they need. Right now, one has 3 buds, one has a bloom and 2 buds and one has 6 flowers!

Apologies Aknan, been a really busy time. The house is painted and now have to go through everything and do a cull. I feel like the tortoise at the moment - slowly does it. My friends came by yesterday and pressure cleaned all the tiles, so I have an "unpainted" surface to work with, but most of my pots I had outside need repotting, so may be Christmas before I get it all done lol. But I will answer you - just need a bit of energy to get going with the culling. Hugs.

Joelle, don't worry a bit about the time. Just have fun doing the puzzles and enjoy the comments. It's nice to "see" you here today. I think these flowers are absolutely gorgeous!

I do the 192 just to have to concentrate more so. I know, weird lol
Some kind of orchid, though they certainly are prettier than the "Mothers Day orchids" they sell here, with the stem cut off right short! They are apparently garden orchids; I know that wild orchids can be tiny.

Really? Here in Australia, we have bigger orchids that look nothing at all like that (I think...) My sister keeps some and the flowers are actually vanilla and chocolate scented!
I was amazed to see the use of orchids on dining tables throughout a cruise ship. My conclusion --- they must be hardier than the delicate look they present! And yes, they were. Throughout a 12 day cruise they held up through repeated table settings. Everyone enjoyed them. It didn't take a lot of flowers to give an elegant look.
