So pretty! As many of you will notice those aren't cranberries. I come from a town near Cape Cod, and we would ice skate on the frozen cranberry bogs in winter. My dad knew they were so shallow that we couldn't fall in! Does anyone know what those lovely little berries are?
Here's another question I've been meaning to ask you lovely people: do many of you do real jigsaw puzzles, too? My friend is obsessed like I am - we just went on a girls' weekend and spent the whole three days doing a 1, 000 piece puzzle! We should have sipped some Cape Codders: vodka and cranberry juice. Yummy!

I think they are currants. We also have a lot of cranberry farms in B.C. Canada.

Haven't done an actual jgsaw puzzle in years! On rainy days, my mother would sit down on the floor with us and work 500 to 1, 000 piece puzzles. She was really good at finding that piece that fit perfectly, while my brother and I valiantly tried to get our pieces in anywhere...great memories. Thanks for bringing them back for me.

In the words of an old David Soul song Aknan "don't give up on me baby" lol. Thought I was going to lose a toe but turned out to be a blood blister!! PTL - Lotsa love.
I wouldn't mind trying that soup, it looks delicious!

Hello bopitex, Nice to hear from another resident. I am from MA too but from the North shore, Lynn MA. No idea about the berries?

Yes, bopitextreme, I have done regular jigsaw puzzles. Once, on vacation, during a rainy spell, we did a jigsaw of many little pieces. It was on a large round low coffee table and I got the worst stiff neck I ever had. Never again on that kind of table!

Hi bopitextreme. My hubby and I do jigsaw puzzles on our dining room table. Our next one up is a 1, 000 piece old fashioned Christmas puzzle.

Thanks aknan, JAMP124 and trynfindit for your "real" puzzling stories. JAMP124 I have also just about put my back out bending over puzzles! trynfindit my ex and I used to do puzzles together too, but he would always hog the box top, so I had to work blind! Reason for "ex"? Meanwhile, that watermelon soup recipe you gave a link to has my mouth watering! Lime, tabasco, chervil...mmm, I'm going to try it! hugs

Bopitextreme, we put our puzzle box top on a medium-sized easel so we can both see it. Hope you enjoy the watermelon soup. I've never eaten it - found the recipe and picture for it when I did an internet search for that red soup in the puzzle. :)
Looks more like soup rather than cranberries! In fact, soup sound pretty good for lunch--maybe clam chowder--that sounds really good to me today. Have a great day!
