Never had a cuckoo clock but know some people that did. I don't think I would like to hear "cockoo" every hour or half hour. Not a very hard puzzle to do. I have a cat at my feet that wants to get patted--or maybe combed which I have already done.

Don't have a cuckoo, but hubby has one w/a rooster it crows every hour & really sounds like one. It stays downstairs it would drive me crazy...thank goodness that you can change it to tell you just the hour-that's better.

I had a cuckoo clock like the one in the picture. Drove my family nuts. The only time it was any problem was when it struck 11pm and midnight, and when the cat tried to climb the chains.

They WOULD drive you "cuckoo" listening to them each and every hour. I once tried the BIRD ones, and they "got to me" eventually, too, with the routine of it.
