Are these an eatable fruit? Where do they grow?

Fiesty, they're a tropical fruit and have a nice, sweet taste - even if they do look a lot like cauliflower!

I live on the twin island of Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean, it grows here and other Caribbean countries.

Thankfully they were far away so I'm safe. Sadly I have lost complete contact from a couple of my friends from Dominica and St Croix. Praying for them!

I'm off to clinic today to have the dressing changed and find out if I can be set free from my bedroom for good behaviour, this is the first change of dressing a nd I am alittle apprehensive, no be truthful I am scarred in case any thing as gone wrong.

Ugly looking fruit but the carers assure me it is sweet and nice to eat, reminds of the wasps nest you sometime find in the garden.
God bless you all.

Barbaranne, so good to see your post! I've been wondering how you are doing. I'm still in the hospital from my surgery (8 days so far)...one complication after another. The latest is pneumonia, cough, cough. They said they're holding me for at least 2 more days. Oh, bother!
After we get home, my hubby will have the same surgery, only more in-depth. I'm not quite sure how we
will get along while both of us need assistance to do anything. But we know that God will see us through. He knows every hair on our heads!
God Bless & Good Health!

Prayers for you and your husband, JoyceRogers. May you recover quickly and fully and may God send his earthly angels to give you the help you need.
My husband and I spent our first Christmas together recovering from operations. We sat in the hospital hall singing Christmas hymns. He had a hernia and I had two large ovarian cysts removed. My aunt was our angel when we got home.

Thanks SO MUCH for all the prayers! I'm now home after 10 days in the hospital. The back surgery went splendidly - it feels better than it has in years. Praise the Lord! Then the domino effect started with pneumonia. They did a zillion tests and found out several other things possibly wrong with me. I told my husband that I needed to get out of there...every time another doctor walked in the door something else was wrong with me. If I left, I wouldn't be sick any more!
There was one doctor there that I didn't want to leave. He was actually interested in my health and spent more time with me than any other doctor ever has. He listened to every word I said, and the next day he not only still remembered what I had said, but you could tell that he had researched every possibility of healing for each problem! I wanted him to become my Primary Physician, but he only works in the hospital...if I left the hospital I could have no more contact. It ALMOST made me want to stay. But alas, my cat and my own bed called, and I wanted to go home...He at least gave me references of who to follow up with.
Pixi - it sounds like you and your hubby are a lot like me and mine. We've made an awful lot of "heavenly lemonade" out of "earthly lemons! "
And Trynfindit, sounds like your husband was cut from the same cloth as my husband and I! Maybe we should all get together someday and work jigsaw puzzles together...pick a hospital, any hospital! ;)

Dear me, JoyceRogers--let's hope not! But meeting would be fun, wouldn't it? When I had my last two ops I had the same feeling--I had to get home or staying in that hospital would make me keep getting worse.

JoyceRogers, tell me where you live (general area only) and perhaps one time that we vacation it will be in your area. Santaclause, her hubby and me and my hubby are planning to meet up the next time we're in England, hopefully next spring.

I live in Colorado, USA, near Denver. I wish everyone would put where they are close to...but I'm sure there would be Something wrong with that! There always is!

I live near the capital region of New York.We visited Colorado 6 or 7 years ago and did a circuit that began in Denver (although we stayed in Idaho Springs) and took in Manitou Springs, Black Canyon of the Gunnison and Crested Butte went thru Leadville to Lake Dillon and flew back home from Denver. Colorado is one of the prettiest places I've seen but you also have the craziest weather.

Joyce, I asked the C4J crew if we could change our account names to reflect where we are (trynfindit-n.e.FL for example) and they said that wasn't possible. They have, however, added state flags for all of our states and for many countries, so that helps a good deal. I love tugboats and had that as my icon but changed it to the state flag of Florida just recently.

pixi's right - Colorado is a beautiful state.

Thanks for checking, trynfindit. I have no idea how to change my icon (it'll come with practice! ) or my name, as you can see by my clever moniker. I just logged on and started typing.
Pixi, I agree...Colorado has some of the most beautiful places on this earth! And yes, the weather is crazy! The joke around here is "Don't like the weather? Just wait 15 minutes! " We never get bored! I have lived here since I was 7 years old and still have not seen even half of this state. There never seems to be enough time, and when you do take a vacation, you want to go away somewhere. My son and his family are trying to move to Hawaii in a few years, and I keep wondering Why? I'm sure Hawaii is a perfectly wonderful paradise, but I prefer 4 seasons, and I enjoy snow! Oh well...we'll have ready-made vacations for the rest of our lives!

Good for you Joyce in figuring out how to change your icon. I got a chuckle out of your "Wait 15 minutes..." regarding Colorado weather; we say the same thing about Florida weather.

Hi All, I have been keeping track of where people are from ever since the state flag icons have been an option. To date we have 45 states and 18 countries represented. I'm sure I have missed a few along the way. I still need to hear from someone from Nebraska, North Dakota, Rhode Island, Utah and Wyoming. As far as the countries I was able to add Herman from Belgium this morning. We also have Australia, Mexico, Scotland, England and New Zealand to name a few. I just think it is so wonderful to hear from people from all over the world. I have never traveled too far from home and this is one way of learning how the other half lives.
Good health is wished for all.

I think is more tropical areas. A friend of mine had a tree and it was covered in custard apples and we had a really bad storm just recently and her tree toppled. Too bad, I was looking forward to eating some. If you google "custard apple" you will find lots of info and some pics with the fruit cut open. They are quite large, much bigger than an apple. Hugs.

Good for you! I must say I prefer the sunshine coast to the Gold Coast, but guess you have to see it once in a lifetime. The sunshine coast is north of Brisbane and not quite so commercialized, though getting that way. My husband and I went to Mooloolaba for four days a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed it very much. Enjoy your stay and I am sure you husbands will appreciate you when you get home. Hugs.

Thank you "aussie". How sweet! Yes "Country Roads" one of my favorite songs. I was born and raised a "hillbilly", "stump jumper", "Hatfields and McCoys" and I DO HAVE A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR ABOUT IT......LOL Although I do live along the Ohio River with a bridge connecting us to Marietta, Ohio, which just received the honor of being the sixth city to visit by Smithsonian Magazine. We have no shopping in our little town of 3200. We do all that in Marietta. You made my day. Was feeling a little down. Hugs back to you.
