Lots of fun to do. My favorites to do with lots of variety and color. A challenge with columns spread out and tables and chairs with a variety of walkways. The part of the chairs you sit on were rather long with a small hump. If you had short legs your feet wouldn't
touch the ground. Maybe an optical illusion. Pretty fancy. Wonder where it was. Didn't say.
Hi JAMP124, Never been there. Why do you think there? Did you notice the odd chairs?

Hi, beckydent. I mentioned San Diego as it seemed a likely place to have an outdoorsy seating area.
My husband and I were there as part of the tour. We chose it for the Rose Bowl Game (which we loved) and were glad it started off with 3 days in San Diego. We thoroughly enjoyed that too. The biggest surprise for me was the San Diego Zoo. I could have stayed all day and watched 2 or 3 apes and their antics. We were on a high viewing platform overlooking their natural area (not a cage! ) and they entertained themselves with a towel, a big stick and a ball. What fun! Oh, and they waded in a brook nearby!
I have seen chairs similar to that at other establishments --- not sure where! I am very short (4'7") and I don't do well in chairs like that. The back is too far back and slopes back. Not for me!

JAMP124, Sounds like you had a great time. I would love to go to a big zoo but my husband has bad knees and back. Carried sheetrock for a living and had surgeries on both. Back surgery made it worse. He couldn't walk much now days. I don't know if they have wheelchairs to rent. I have one I use when we make trips. I don't see any more trips for us. We did a lot over the years. Time goes to fast. I watch all the zoo shows on TV. I would have loved watching the monkeys also. Made me laugh.

Beckydent --- We were transported between areas in this vast place by a motorized jittney ---- must have held ten people. It must have been electric as it was very quiet. As we approached the elephant area, there was an elephant standing with his back to us. He heard or sensed something and heaved that big body around quickly and was overjoyed to see us. The driver stopped, got out, put his arms up --- and the elephant's trunk went up. You could tell it was a ritual with the two of them. What joy!
