I have played golf twice with a "rabid" mediocre player who ruined the game both times....haven't played since. He really soured the game for me with his "holier than thou" attitude. I know I'm not good, but really, it is a game. Blessings to all and have a wonderful day.
Why is it that sports bring out the worst in some people? I'm with you, nborchardt - it's only a game unless you're a pro and if you're a pro, why are you playing with me?

I must have played bridge with the same person!!! I will never play with anyone I don't know --- and no one can take the game too seriously!

When I was in high school a very wise gym teacher let us divide ourselves into those who thought every game was a matter of life and death and those who just wanted to have fun (my choice). Way more enjoyable if people weren't yelling at you if you dropped the ball or struck out.

Aknan and JAMP124, I love your replies! I, too, have played bridge and, like chess and ALL sports, they are GAMES, nothing more.
My dad loved to play golf. I remember once as a little girl I made him a golf themed birthday card and inside I wrote, "I hope you get the highest score! " - lol I bet he showed that one around the clubhouse.
Never learned to golf. My former husband took me to the driving range once and I did better than him so he never took me again. Who knows, I could have been a natural and gone on to win millions in tournaments. LOL
