Does anyone else think the two blue & white buildings right in the center of the structures look like canoes??? The buildings look like someone got hold a an erector set. They don't quite look real to me, like it's a model of a city.
I am sure our buildings were once beautiful like this but their age and damage by smog and wear and tear and an uncaring populace have taken their toll. Some places still have the the beauty of newness and love still upon them. If only more people cared. I don't for a minute think it is because we can't afford to build them.

I, personally, feel that older buildings that have architectural value are much more beautiful than modern architecture. The stone masons and carpenters of old certainly had more skill and more pride in their creations than most modern construction workers. Of course, the need for taking more time to create a superior product was valued in bygone days. Sad, don't you think?

I agree about the US having the money, but you have to remember we have so many rules and regulations, plus fees and fines, that it takes forever to build anything. Remember it took over 11 years (I think) to replace the towers! Look how quickly the China Sea buildings, airstrips, barracks, etc. have been built.
