Debbie--after graduating from Hoffstra & NYU, my newly married nephew & wife, moved to Dubai (courtesy of NYU) to teach young adults Literature. They just loved it! Even tho we were scared, they made many friends & lived about 1 mile from the sea in NYU housing which is almost next to Dubai Tower.
There was a fire yesterday in the high-rise across the street from the one you mentioned that caught fire.

Hadn't realized that. I'm not going there anyway, but they need to inspect all those buildings. That city was not there one day and it was the next. Never have seen a city appear so fast as Dubai.

I wouldn't want to live there either, I live in the country but the fire department is 1 mile away. Buildings way to close. I have the best of two worlds, one living in the country and living on a lake with really good fishing. We swim, fish, kayak and we have a pontoon boat. We are retired now but when my husband worked he drove 25 miles to work. When we go shopping it is about 35 miles to a store big enough that the prices are good to stock up on things. I wake to roosters crowing and the smell of barns open. And in the mist of many, many fruit orchards, so fruit much available from farmers. I don't think I could live in the city at all.

Looks like you both live in good places. My neighborhood is very quiet. It is near Orlando, but far enough away. Rarely go into there unless I absolutely have to. Everything is very convenient around here.
I do not like the hustle and bustle of city life. I love the country side with plenty of open spaces. I love mountains and lakes...Just a farm boy at heart..
Without trying to fly to Dubai I can't try to buy.
Hope you are all having a transfiguring day.

God bless you all.
