That is a beautiful castle. I am sooooooo tired of winter. Today we have a brilliant blue sky, tons of sunlight and a temperature of -25 without the wind chill. Really? To be positive, I love the sunshine!! I hope all of you have a wonderfully safe day and blessings to all.
I see palm trees. I didn't think Dublin had a climate that a palm could tolerate. What odd curlicues are cut through the lawn. The Gothic arches in the cathedral part are very pretty and I always like turrets but the left side of the castle looks like an apartment house. It doesn't really blend with the rest. I used to want to visit Ireland but then saw so many scenes of treeless rocky hills I lost interest. The towns looked drab and the streets narrow...And I don't care for mutton. The cliffs of Dover would be worth a visit, tho. Part of my family came over from Limerick.
Wishing you broad horizons to explore.
I agree with you about the building on the left not fitting in. If it was an "add on" the architect should be fired!

I agree. I was hung up on the Great Room on the right and the railing in front of the tower. It looked like a forced style. The tower (the Keep) was probably built first for defense.

Pixi, I was astounded the first winter we were in the NC mountains and, in the 20ish degree weather, there were beautiful ferns still growing in all that cold and snow!

People down the block have yuccas. We go well below zero every winter here in upstate NY and that's an Arizona native. It has survived for years without being mulched or covered. Maybe those palms are potted and taken inside.
Wishing you broad horizons to explore.
sure happy I don't have to wash all them windows
