This is the Duomo of Florence. Andrea Bocelli gave a wonderful free concert at the Duomo of Milan on Easter Sunday. If you didn't get a chance to see it on Youtube, you missed something wonderful and I would recommend you check it out. He has a beautiful voice and the Duomo is extraordinary.

At least some of the more modern buildings have broken away from making everything in rectangles.
Hoping your day isn't boxed in.
The buildings one sees any more are glass boxes, white boxes or boxes with colored panels. What passes for "architecture" are pyramid shapes, towers or weird shapes like the 'walkie-talkie' or 'the pickle' in London. I won't mention what the latter one looks like.
