We took a sunset boat cruise where commentary was provided in about 5 different languages. Just as we approached the Eiffel Tower, it lit up like a Christmas Tree. It was magical. We did not go up. Our highest point in Paris was Montmartre.
Been there about 40 years ago. They say it is really over-rated. It was OK, but there are better things to see. Didn't care for Paris that much. Give me Rome instead. Would love to go back there.Last time I was in Rome, it was just to the airport and then plane was delayed because of a strike with public transportation and taxis and airplane personell couldn't get to the airport.
I've never wanted to go to Paris or anywhere else in France. But Rome I would like to see.

I've been to Paris and Rome as well. I was on a plane when there was an airline strike too. I loved Paris and loved the food in both cities. My sister is fluent in French. We went about 40 years ago as well. We both were kids at the time - our grandparents took us on this trip. My sister was already over there and living there. She was an au pair - nanny for a French family. Infact they asked her to return the following summer and she did. Can even recall their last name....lol She made many funny goofs while she was there....hehehe
Eiffel like I have accomplished something when I put this puzzle together.
It reminds me of the Erector Sets we had when I was a young boy - several years ago, of course. lol
