You should try snowmobiling in Yellowstone out of West Yellowstone. It is fantastic. Guides are usually naturalists who are very informative. Lots of animals - up close and the geysers are even more spectacular in the cold air.
I think he is catching flakes! --- That's the little boy in him! I love to watch elk approach a stand of trees and tilt their rack one way and then the other to make their way.
