In this online jigsaw puzzle, an English Setter stands unleashed in a large field. With so much space to run and play, this dog has probably had a very full day.
Good morning to all. Nice dog, these dogs are very smart and easy to train, usually. My nephew had one for years, until she died. He named her " Girl Dog ", how original is that! He found her on the street going through garbage to find food, looked like she had been lost for a long time. He rescued her and she never left his side when he was not at work. Such a smart, loving dog, we all fell in love with her, and it broke our hearts when she passed. Well have to go to the back doctor again today, to get the last MRI results. All they have done is make me feel like a drug addict because I take pain pills. Don't like having to depend on pain killers but if that's what it takes for me to do the things I have to do, so be it. I take my pills exactly as prescribed and they then tell me I take too many!!!! Well I decided no more shots or surgery on my back, none of it has helped, just given me a MRSA infection( got from one of the hospital stays for surgery) I am still battling the infection 5 years later. Sorry for venting, I just get so angry when it comes to my back. Aussie loved the quote from Ustinov. Everyone be safe.

I am with you on the back, neck pain. I try not to take the pain pills as they make me stupid. Had two steroid shot earlier this year. Have only taken pain meds twice since April 30. You are in my healing prayers.

I can relate to being told you take too many pain pills when you take them exactly as directed. I've been there. It is very demoralizing. I hope you are able to find some kind of treatment that will give you relief from your back pain. To try everything with no success can be very depressing. Hang in there! I add my hugs to the ones aussie is sending you. God bless you.

Rpayne14 don't recall seeing you posting before, if that is the case, welcome to the playground. Been taking pain meds of one kind or another for 15 years so they no longer have any any effect on me other than cut the pain some. Just so tired of it all. Hope to see you on site again, be safe and you are have joined my prayers also.

Rpayne that last line should read "be safe and you have joined my prayers also". I just hate to make grammar mistakes, makes me feel dumb and uneducated. Be safe

Aussie THANKS!! I really needed that hug, but I think you knew that ;-D. Nlbuchanan I am totally demoralized at this point. My 2 back doctors have said from what they can tell now is that all my pain is from permanent nerve damage because they waited too long to fuse my back. Now their suggestion is to have a device implanted in the back similar to a pace maker ( only for pain ) and run wires up my spinal cord so it can send stimulation directly to the area. It's supposed to work for about 75% of people who try it. They want to put it on temporarily, so only the wires will be in my spine and the device will be attached externally until I see if it will work. If it works then they will implant the rest of it under the skin. Supposed to be very easy to remove if necessary for some reason. Am thinking about it, just don't know? Would appreciate some of my puzzle buddies thoughts on this matter. Be safe all of you. THANKS for the additional hug, like I said to Aussie I really needed it this morning.

Hi darambo, I don't know how you cope with the pain. I broke my little toe about six months ago, didn't go to the doctor as they cannot do anything for a broken toe, but a few weeks ago I kicked it again and it is still a pretty red colour and giving me lots of pain and that's only in my little toe. More hugs coming your way (gentle ones). Bless you heaps.

I have tried external wires that are used to stimulate the nerves in hopes of reducing the pain. My chiropractor gave it to me. It didn't really work for me it turned out my problem wasn't my back after all. My daughter used one for her artheritis and it did give her some relief befor they replaced the joints.
Do they have a similar device you could try that would give ou some idea of whether or not it would give you any relief at all? And what are the risks of the surgery? It would seem to me putting wires that close to your spinal chord would require very steady hands. Do you trust your surgeon? I'm guessing you must or you would not have let him do surgery already. What about just having a pain pump inserted? That would automatically release pain medication so you would not be taking pills all the time. They can make it so you can jump it up when the pain gets extra sever. My daughter and I are both under the care of a pain management doctor. These are some of the things he does, as well as cauterizing the nerve so it cannot send pain signals, corisone shots and all the other things they try before they do any surgery. Otherwise, go for it.

Darambo, after trying everything BUT the pain pump and having it fail miserably, we looked into it with my Dearly Beloved's pain management doctor and discovered the batteries would need to be replaced fairly often. (His was for a 47-yr-long headache.) He opted against the procedure since it didn't offer much hope. He will now have to discs removed, spacers put in and held in place with a small metal plate. After all the MRIs he's had, how everyone missed those discs is beyond me! We don't think this will solve the problem, but if it reduces the pain, he will be happier. My prayers for relief for you!

Akan, Aussie, and Nlbuchanan sorry it's taken so long for me to respond. I think I have sunk into a deep black funk, if you know what I mean. I have 2 of the best back doctors in the area, to find better I would have to go to Portland, which is a 5 hour drive.I do trust my doctors or I wouldn't be letting them do surgery 3 times, but the longer I think about this new thing they want to do the more afraid I become. The wires do not go directly in my spinal cord, but up along side of it, in case I didn't explain it properly.Yes batteries will have to be replaced, but they said at my age probably only need to be done once. Akan I can not fathom the pain of having a headache for 47 years. It's incredible your hubby has been able to cope ( I will remember him in my prayers also ) What he is going to have done they have already done to my lower back. I can probably set off metal detectors with all the metal in me lol!!! I don't expect all my pain to be gone, but if it could lessen it so I can do the things I have to do I would be very happy. The reason they don't put a regular pain pump in is they want to remove everyone they can from pain meds and this is supposed to work with electrical stimulation not meds. Thank you all for your input as I do value opinions. Forgot to mention one of my doctors is also a pain management doctor. You all stay safe.

Bless you, darambo. You are in my prayers. My Dearly Beloved will have surgery next week. We only hope it can bring the relief he deserves.

Akan will remember your hubby in my prayers. Hopefully he will get some relief. Please let us know how he is doing after his surgery. He will be in my thoughts. You need to take care of yourself also, and get some extra rest when you can. Be safe.

Thank you. I have been here since 2000. Just doing free puzzles sometimes I feel the need to pray for someone other than myself and my family. Be blessed...
Sweet dog. Getting ready to turn my computer off. Hopefully it will be able to get the internet again tomorrow. My nephew (worked at Google) was here from California and got it to working again for me.

Take care and God bless. Hugs.
