They can be 13" long! I had no idea. Also, when they open their wings to fly, there's a lot more color. Very pretty, and a nice puzzle. Thank you C4J team!
Think it is the male bird that was on puzzles 6/24/14, and I think it said along coastal area, but not what country. We had a lots of comments also with it.

According to Wikipedia, it is found in marshes in Africa, India, Pakistan, and South-east Asia, and there is also the Australian painted-snipe, which is rare (and lives in Australia of course)
I don't remember seeing a bird like this
it is a pretty bird
