I love the banter about ol' lady sayings. Now if my memory would just not forget them. But if I didn't laugh about it I would walk around crying.
Thank God for a sense of humor!
I can barely see that third fox, and I love the reflection in the water of the other two.
I actually saw a red fox once while hiking in West Branch, Michigan. Unfortunately, it had been hit by a car. I was in awe over the beauty of its fur. The following poem seems appropriate.
Red Fox, Red Fox
Red fox, red fox,
You should have listened.
Listened to your head,
Instead of your heart.
Red fox, red fox,
You use to be so smart.
What happened to your cleverness
What happened to your brain?
Red fox, red fox,
Did that brown bird take your head too?
He most certainly took your heart,
When he flew away.
Red fox, red fox,
Don't wait for him.
Too late,
You're gone too. --Imogen Owens
Oh vmarie--so sad. I like sad poems and stories too. That's a lovely poem.

My husband's family lived on a farm, and there was a fox that lived down by the creek, she would bring her kits up nearer to the house for them to see. They are beautiful and smart animals.

I would have loved to have had that experience, CatLady.

When my mom was in a retirement home it had a fair amount of brushy woodsy area around it and, several times when I would go to see her a pair of foxes would run across the road. Lovely creatures.
Thank God for a sense of humor!
I loved to read A A Milne too.....
Teens"! It works pretty well for us and gets an occasional
laugh!
as they say "there is life in the old dog yet"
Saw a wonderful little sign the other day (I may have posted about it already; just bear with me):
"The older I get, the better I was."
Take care folks
