At first glance, the dessert in this jigsaw puzzle looks like an apple pie. But the unique filling reveals that it is actually a crispy French apple cake.
1 cup oil
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
21/2 cup flour
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup walnuts
3 cups apples sliced thin
Mix sugar and oil. Add eggs and beat well. Add vanilla
In a separate bowl, mix salt, baking soda, flour, and baking powder.
Slowly add flour mixture to egg mixture. Mix well. Add apples and walnuts and mix. Pour into well-oiled pan.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Put on cake plate or rack as soon as you take it out of the oven.
