I like strawberries in certain things, especially strawberry shortcake with piles of whipping cream. Otherwise, I almost never buy them fresh. Shame on me, I don't eat a lot of fruit like I'm supposed to. I'm usually buying salty snacks. :o(
I bought a little rock today,
It looked so plain outside,
I never dreamed for a minute
Of the beauty it did hide.
It looked like a ball of mud
All brown and pitted so,
You would never, ever dream
Of the beauty it would show.
But I learned just what to do
To break this rock apart,
And was absolutely dazzled
By the beauty in it's heart.
You see, inside the rock
Were myriad crystals gleaming white,
It was simply magnificent
When exposed to the light.
It made me think how wonderfully
Each of us is made,
We might be plain on the outside
Our loveliness hidden in the shade.
But God has filled us with beauty
That no mortal hand can duplicate,
We are fearfully and wonderfully made,
God's image we simulate.
So don't judge by outward appearances
Because as that rock, the surface can hide
An inner light that is magnificent
And an incredible beauty inside.
