We are lucky here, we have a pair of pandas in our zoo in Adelaide South Australia. Their names are Wang Wang and Funi. I also saw some in Shanghai zoo....but the conditions here are much nicer for them.
We have them on loan for ten years from China, at a cost of $US1million dollars per year., as part of a conservation program.As yet they have not been successful at breeding,.

Many, many hugs to you, too, nborchardt. Little would I criticize anyone over aging issues. I tend to "feel guilty" much of the time. I look back on my life and wonder if I'll ever make it into heaven...not so much for being evil (at leat I hope I'm not) as for being useless.
Please send some of that rain here to Colorado! I've lost count of all the huge forest fires! There's so much smoke all over that all us old folks can't go outside or we won't be able to breathe. Even with our 'masks' on! Please Pray for everyone that lives in the mountains right now...
