What a lovely collection - recognize some of them from my shells.
QUOTES - "Only through love can we obtain communion with God." —Albert Schweitzer
"The soul would have no rainbow if the eyes had no tears." —Native American proverb END
Aussie one of my favorite proverb/saying attributed to Native Americans is :
An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. "A fight is going on inside me, " he said to the boy.
"It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego." He continued, "The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too."
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, "Which wolf will win? "
The old Cherokee simply replied, "The one you feed."

Aussie and Globug--Sometimes I try to imagine how different & lovely our earth would be if the Cherokees still ruled our N.American soil & we all join together to respect our land, pollution, water and all of nature's beauty.

Excellent Native American storytelling, Globug. I like reading about the beliefs of the various tribes. A book that will rip your heart apart is Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee.
