Such a beautiful country! I've had friends from there, and they speak English beautifully. Speaking other languages is taught so well there. Here in US, we're lucky to learn ONE language. Lol!! I would love to exchange languages with you. Watch out when you ask me to correct you...I'm a real grammar nerd! First correction: here, it's spelled procrastination! At least I knew what you meant! (And I'm one of the biggest procrastinators I know! )

That would be procrastinating. And I'd say that we're all good at it lol My best friend went back to Sweden, many years ago. Found her via Twitter and have lost her again! Ah well. I have pictures and great memories. Miss you, Monika.

Ninanita, I am Swedish on both sides of my family. My grandfather was born in Sweden--Malmo I think. My sister and I rented a car and spent 2 weeks in that part of the country looking up ancestors. We found the town where my grandfather went to school and the cemetary where my great grandparents and 1 aunt that didn't come to the states, are buried. I would love to go back but age is playing a factor in that. I have a big scrapbook of the trip. Everyone there was so helpful.

Hej ninanita! Hur mår du? Jag är inte Svensk, men ja läste på gymnasiet I Sverige för ett år. Jag bodde hos en familj I Sandviken. Välkommen til C4J — och förlåt mig om jag stavar något fel! Kram
I see in the posts these glasses are well-liked. I like them, too. I have a few fancy goblet type glasses that are clear cobalt blue and I love them but only se them for special occasins. We stick to using mugs with nice photos on them. The one I use has a greeting card design on it that I sold to a card company who then sold it to a mug company. They were really good to do work for because I always got a cut of any extra sales my designs made and they returned the original art. Many companies only give a flat fee and don't return the artwork.
I only bring out my drinking glasses for company. I find it easier for me to use a paper cup. Since I live alone now, it would take me months to even get a decent load to put in my dishwasher. (I use paper plates a lot too! ) Really like the design of these glasses.
Micki ---- Treat yourself --- and use your pretty dishes. Choose a different "look" every day.
I wash the few dishes I use for a meal by hand -- because I don't want them sitting in the dishwasher for a week!

Micki, I'm like JAMP - use use my favorite dish, glass and bowl, them quickly wash them when done. I can certainly understand your point of view, however.

I wash most of my dishes by hand everyday. Coffee cup, dishes and silverware. Sometimes I use a glass for breakfast juice, but to just pour some water to take a pill, for example, I use a paper cup. Love you guys.

I never wanted a dishwasher. We had one in one of our homes. It needed a new gasket which we finally bought and put on it when we were selling the house.
If I die before my husband I will see he has one, tho, because he insists on doing the breakfast and morning coffee break dishes and they always have to be done again. He thinks passing the the dish under the faucet and making a quick swipe with the sponge is all it takes. They end up with jelly and smears of egg on them. He gets annoyed if I interfere or criticize.
We need our kitchen redone and my brother tells me to make sure we get a dishwasher so the house will be saleable. He hopes we'll move to AZ near him but until we have to move for one reason or another I don't think we want the work that entails.
Heard from Lyn yesterday, my friend in New Zealand with the cancer. She sent me two books which must have been very special to her a small book called Common prayer, abut 1 -1/2 inches by two inches bye 3/4 inch with a date in it of Christmas 1897 and the other a new testament about the size of the small Bibles that the Gideons leave in motels and look just as old, but could not find a date in it. Tried to call her today but it just went to her answering machine. She must be getting close to her time to be sending things like that which must have been very precious to her. Will keep you posted.
Love glassware puzzles. Look at all the colors in the clear glass on the right as it picks them up from the other glasses. Something behind it is red or orange and making for a really interesting interplay.
So sad for our skater Chen. He is having a terrible time...so talented too. If he skated as he did at our nationals he would be among the top 3 but he barely qualified for his long program. Awesome skating last night. Javier is in second and that only shows how fantastic the Japanese man who is in forst is because they both skated flawlessly. Long program tonight. We usually are in bed by 10 pm so staying up until 12:30 am is messing me up...although I used to be a night owl b4 getting married. I am not familiar with the names as I have not kept up religiously with the sport. Many Asian winners--Chen, Chan, Zhou, etc and the Russian names are impossible. My memory isn't very good any more, and it doesn't help most skaters are using pop music now which I don't know at all. I am thankful for those skaters who have continued to use what is less "cutting edge." (pun intended)
I used to enjoy the skating part of the Olympics but it has become so political that I stopped. Figure skating has always been so beautiful, especially the pairs.

Pixie, you often cause me to take a deeper look at the puzzles, beyond just a bunch of glasses. I appreciate that. If I am not seeing the beauty of each picture, my mind is too cluttered with things I should have given to God so I can enjoy what He has given to me. Thank you.

Mamag, you are talking to someone who almost did the same. In this Olympics the hoohah for Rippon was making me nauseous. I know he skates beautifully and have to give him credit for putting excellence on the ice with every routine BUT this is the Olympics, not Ice Capades, so why did they send someone without the artillery to win? The favoritism towards him might have been Lessing's reason for leaving team US and switching to Canada. Who could blme him. Another case in point is Ashley Wagner--another show-stopper but also short on ammunition.
