The first time we visited my folks in AZ I insisted we take three more days and see the canyon. My husband was miffed we were spending the money and time. When we reached the canyon it was a total white out of fog. My heart sank. Suddenly thfog went up in the sky like a grand curtain and the canyon revealed itslf. My husband could not stop thanking me.

The Canyon is more awesome in person than in any picture I've ever seen. It seems deeper and more mystical somehow in person. It is hard to believe that the tiny stream so far away is really the mighty Colorado River.

You're right, starr, standing in front of the real thing can never be beat by a picture, as good as the picture might be. The awe-inspiring sight of the Grand Canyon, Yosemite and so many other places are real treasures.

Exactly right. I wasn't really interested when I was 22 and went with my folks. I had seen so many photos I thought so what can being there do that I haven't already seen. WRONG!!!! It is totally breathtaking in person and even the best phot or artwork cannot equal the experience.

Our daughter got married in Vegas and every time the family came out of the Hotel, people was asking if we wanted to go on aflight to the Grand Cannyon, evey one of our family went on this flight except me, would have love to have gone, but I afraid I have not got heads for heights, Best way for me is doing your jigsaws, and I can travel any wear in the world with out leaving my chair, Abig thank you team for letting me see the 7 wonders of the world from the computer. lots of love Santa.

Have been there as well. One morning we got up really early. We wanted to get to one of the rims and watch the sun come up. It was really windy and cool. Lots of fun though!

Have been there a few times--once when snowing, which was beautiful. Also have done a helicopter ride over it. Loved it.
