My Grandad had a very nice dairy farm, and we would go up in the Summer to help. We tried loading the hay wagon, but had a hard time when the hay on the wagon got too high for us to get more on top with our pitchforks. I still Love the smell of new mown hay. I was scared to death of the silage machine chopping up the corn stalks and blowing it up into the silo-Mom wouldn't let us get near it. Loved the cows, too-they were very sweet, except when they lapped us!!
The first hay I ever saw baled round like this was in South Carolina
we were on our way from N.C. to visit some of my husband's Army Buddies
it was so good to see the 4 of them back together again after so many years
