My friend has a horse that looks very similar to this one, he's an Appaloosa, and has small spots and flecking like this one. He's very beautiful and super sweet.

I personally did not mistake this animal for a unicorn, although I can see how this interpretation might happen on first glance.
What I see remarkable about this animal is its large jaw. Because of the jaw, I think this may be a work horse of some type. In perusing the work horse breeds, the Boulonnais seemed the closest, but I'm not sure.
The horse here also has a fair amount of "dappling" in its pigmentation. The animal certainly is stately in its appearance. Looking closer at the position of the eye, I get the impression that she is watching the photographer take her picture.
