Island View Premium Jigsaw Puzzle

Hi, netta - good to hear from you! Quite understand, I have spells like that, when I just don't feel like chatting. (Yes, believe it or not, I do shut up sometimes!!!!! )

Funny. I feel that way too. Lately more then not.

I would sit there with you and we could do puzzles the old fashioned way! On a card table!

I do the same thing. Told my brother in law one time that I didn't have anything to say, so I just listen (or read) to what's going on around me.

Same for me too guys (all genders)! I call it zoning, or in a "funk"....love reading about the world thru all us "crazy4jigs" folk...blessings to all

I have been reading a lot too, but I do try to say something encouraging about the puzzles.

Well folks, ups I nearly said ladies but there could be a gent or two hiding behind those names we have chosen///I admire those people that can sit back and listen but me I am too loud and out there it's a bad habit of mine and I am really trying hard to say less and listen more but sometimes my false teeth just carry on yapping without my consent, have a nice week anyway.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who "zones out". I was begining to think I might be getting unsociable in my old age!

And to you, happy4grandkids - sounds like a plan. I could go for that.

Oh, Slippers, I know what you mean! I have times like that, and don't you hate it when you get home and it seems all you can remember is your own voice yapping on!!! Probably not quite like that really (I hope! ) but that's how it can feel. :-}

I can understand that! I love the mountains and all the old history that goes with them. However, in Oregon, we have the ocean too. What I like to do is walk on the beach, listen to the waves and then go back home to my mountain. If I can get a ocean fix about once every other year, I call it good. But would much rather be home in the mountains.

Sitting on the Beach

Brilliant sunshine,
Ocean reflected in a decreasing display,
Wide where the sun appears to be hovering above the sea,
Narrowing toward where the surf
Caresses the sandy shoreline.

An inquisitive gull staring, unblinking
At the intruder into his world,
Perhaps waiting for some morsel of food
To be tossed his way.

A beautiful autumn day dawns as the summer fades,
Hard to believe it is autumn
The day is so perfect.
A cool sea breeze
Breaking the heat of the sun
On skin becoming warm under its touch.

Deserted beach
Only footprints left in the sand by early morning walkers
Revealing others had passed this way.

Sitting there on the beach
Drinking in the beauty and reflecting,
The peace and serenity being absorbed
Into a body tired and worn by a difficult week,
And that week fading slowly,
Body and mind rejuvenated
By the sound of the surging waves
Bathing the sand in a warm embrace,
Each movement of the surf reducing tension and stress.

Thoughts turning toward more pleasant things
Thinking of a lover's touch
And the raw passion to come.

Oh to tarry here, listening, musing and pondering the future,
And lazy summer days
Enjoying life
And the peace which comes about
Sitting on the beach.

You are amazingly talented! that is so beautiful I could cry. It makes me think of my sister who has such a stressful job and why she seeks the comfort of warm sands and sun and rhythmic waves. Thank you for sharing, now I want to go sit on a beach but since I live near Lake Michigan, that will have to suffice :-)

Aussiesaphire, that is simply beautiful. Thank you for a such wonderful poem. Do you mind if I copy it? I would like to put it a frame with a background of the Pacific ocean. I know of just the one I have in mind. It may take me a while to do, since my desk top computer is on the fritz. When I am done, I wish I could share it with you and others.

I too will pray for the whole situation with your family and will pray for the judge too..his is the decision that counts. God bless you pixipixil, for you willingness to share.

Hello All..I do not usually join the conversation, but child welfare is my heart and former profession. I too will pray for your granddaughter, the judge, and you. It is very stressful on all of you, especially the little one. But love and enjoy her while you have her. That she will remember.

I will pray too. Bless all that make those decisions and hope they are the right ones.

Thank you so much for your prayers and caring. I don't think there's a chance the baby will be given to the mother. She just has too many issues and warrants against her. The problem is that her involvement puts the child in limbo. Until the mother is totally out of the picture there is little chance of anything stable. Her own mother is very nice and working with us, but I don't know what she (mother's mother)will do when it comes to court. Social services has backed my son. I hope they continue. If he ever lost the child I think he'd go crazy. He has worked so hard and come so far all because of her.

Hopefully your son will get sole custody of the child. The courts don't seem to be looking at the big picture that woman is mentally ill and needs treatment she needs to be ordered to seek treatment and keep taking her meds in order to see the child and even the access should be supervised.

I have also put your son and granddaughter on our prayer list, Pixipixil. I know the difficulties that go with this from my own families trials. I just hope that it goes better for your family than it did with ours.

Thank you weenlie, mountainmama and ausiesapphire for your prayers. We will need them. My son called a little while ago and said at yesterday's hearing the judge rescinded the order of protection against her sheerly because she got hysterical and had to be removed from the court. Doesn't that sound backwards to you? She has broken into his apartment and demolished it with a hammer. She jumped the girl who took over watching the baby when she was supposed to be in treatment. It doesn't even take a trained professional to see she belongs in a mental ward not visiting a toddler, and yet they drop the protection order because she found another organization (she's been thrown out of three treatment programs because she has a personality disorder) that demanded my son pony up $50 for her to visit with the toddler. (She's 15 mo) I feel like I woke up in a gulag.

I will also be praying for you and your little granddaughter and your son. It can take years for things like this to come to the right outcome and I know it's just the absolute worst, helpless feeling. I finally have custody of my 2 grandsons who are now 17 and 10. They both have issues to deal with even though they spent most of their lives with me- they still went through enough and saw enough with their mom (my daughter) and dads. It's heartbreaking. But, I can tell you that YOU and your husband and son are the stabilizing forces in her world, so stay strong! God willing, it will all turn out right in the end.

Sorry Santaclaus. I only meant it as a join in comment, not a correction or criticism. My father was stationed in Bora Bora and he's the one who told me a "real" hula is very fast. I only can do the Hawaiian form. Anybody know "Little Brown Gal? I can teach you the hand moves.

Sorry pix I don't know that one. But yes I have seen Tahitian style dancing with the hips both males and females and Polynesians are also a very attractive looking people. Must be something to that island living.
