What a magnificent animal! When I was living in Honduras, there was a Natural Resource Fair and there was a baby jaguar in a fairly large pen. My ex-husband was one of the supervisors for the Natural Resource office. He kept saying that I should pet the baby jaguar because he was tame and the guy who found him was carrying it around the office on his shoulders. So, I finally put my hand in the pen to pet him. He cut my finger so fast I didn't know it until I saw my bloody finger. Ladies, you don't have to do all the things your husband suggests! Have a gloriously wonderful blessed day!!
What a story! It seems big cats are dangerous, no matter how little!
Years ago I went with my then-husband to visit friends of his in San Francisco. They had a pet ocelot - who lived in the house with them! We were sitting at their dining table having some wine when the cat jumped up in the table and walked the length of it. When it came to me, it stared to stick its face in my wine glass. The wife said, "Oh, don't let him have any wine." I started to move the glass a minuscule amount and in an instant the cat's big paw slapped around my hand. (no nails came out.) When it did that, the weirdest thing happened: a tear sprang straight out from each eye and sailed through the air - I didn't even know that could happen! The husband just shoved him off the table. Insanity to have a big wild animal like that as a pet! We've both had interesting encounters with wild cats that we'd rather not repeat!

My lol response was in regard to nhoward's, "Ladies, you don't have to do all the things your husband suggests! "

HOLY CRAP!!!! Pardon the language, but wow! Wild animals should never ever become pets. Thanks for the story, bopiextreme!

During yhe 70s things like skunks, wolves, oscelots, raccoons, tarantulas, pythons and all manner of wild things were popular pets.

Yes, trynfindit, that WAS funny! And sound advice, too!
I used to have a leopard print fake fur coat...at least I don't think it was real. Back in the 50's we didn't know any better but I am pretty sure a real fur one would have cost too much. What beautiful markings God has given the animals.
