This is really a beautiful time of the year with all these reminders from C4J - thank you. I hope you are all enjoying it as much as I am with this being my first Christmas as a married woman after 31 years. One sad note, our hearts go out to those people in Connecticut who lost loved ones this day. Our prayers are with you.
There was a tv clip of the Newtown priest talking to his congregation. He told of one of the little victims who was looking forward to being an angel in the church pageant. "Now there are 20 angels. "

May I add my condolences to that. How many lives have been shattered by this senseless tragedy? Our hearts go out to all those affected, including those who witnessed it. You are in our prayers.

Newtown is actually a very old town. I worked in Danbury for several years and commuted through Newtown. I attended many concerts and seminars at the meeting hall. There is a very tall flagpole in the center of the intersection of the main routes (25 & 6) and all directions are given from that point. We always thought of this as a quaint New England village because of the friendly people and all the very old homes. It is the opposite of what anyone would call a "big city".

I join my prayers with yours, it is always sad to lose a child but more so at this time of the year. I hope that they will find some peace in the love of Our Lord.

I agree with everyone's comments and couldn't express it better. Our word for the day is peace. Even though peace seems to be lost in the world we can still have peace in our own homes and lives. My prayers go out to everyone and Newtown. What a senseless tragedy for the whole town and especially the little babies who were just beginning their tiny little lives! And congratulations to aussiesapphire! I feel like we puzzelers are a little "family" and we feel joy as you celebrate your first Christmas with someone you love. May we all find peace this Christmas season!

I agree, aussiesapphire. Congrats on your new life and may you have many happy Christmas's as a new wife. And Yes, My heart goes out to those families and that stupid tragedy in Newtown. No reason at all for behavior like that. May we learn to have peace in our hearts especially at Christmas.

Me too. Hi all, just started doing the puzzles a week ago. Quite addictive, can't seem to tear myself away once I start doing them! The housework can wait!
I can't stop thinking about the tragedy in Connecticut today, especially while I was with my 86 yr old Mom in the er this am. ( She's fine). I can't get this out of my mind, my special needs grandson I'm raising is a lot like this 20 yr old. I have lost grandchildren, I know the pain. May God watch over all those families. My heart is with them. God bless all of you here at C4J as well.
God give them peace where they are!
