Cleaning today and found our containers-- sisters and mine--that we stored our kniting needles in. These containers are at least 70 years old. Can't throw them out--too sentimental. Loved to knit. Not doing it anymore. Craft days over--now do things on the computer--have learned lots of things I never knew.
Wouldn't this yarn make a great baby afghan? I'd crochet it, however, instead of knitting it -- just because I'm faster with a crochet hook, I guess. I wonder how many of our young ladies know how to do the needlework these days. My gram taught me. Hope it isn't becoming a thing of the past - a lost skill? Am currently working on an afghan to donate to Project Linus for gifting a child who is under stress. http://www.projectlinus.org/about/
I did! Made a baby afghan of this exact color yarn, crochet, which I am much better at than knitting. I do many afghans, baby and adult and donated to the Health dept and the charities in our city
I used to knit and crochet, but carpal tunnel syndrome has ruled that out. Counted cross stitch was always my favorite! I am teaching my first granddaughter as many crafts as possible - she wants to try them all! My next granddaughter is only 2-1/2, I'll get to her later!
