Beautiful. Yesterday was my 80th birthday and I was to meet with a group of friends for lunch,. However before they got there I had a great fall and could not get up. An ambulance was called and they gt me up where I could sit down and spent he whole afternoon in the hospital!! Great way t begin my eighties lol.
Can one still say Happy Birthday? So sorry you spent it that way. And I have been praying for you every night that you be protected from falling. Did you injure yourself? Are you home now? Perhaps your friends can celebrate a belated happy birthday. Be careful will you please?

That is not a way to spend a birthday. However, you never know when something is going to happen--and it happens so quickly. I fell about 2 months ago, but didn't hurt myself but getting up was another thing. Finally did it. In fact had to, since I am alone. We just all have to be extra careful. Hope you are OK now.

You are right, Elijah. We have a very close friend who falls and can't get up. She told me therre is no warning. Suddenly she finds herself sitting on the floor. I don't know what precautions one can take to avoid it and apparently you are like her, Aussie.

Thank you all so much. Spent the afternoon in hospital and all is well. Most of the damage is on the left side3 f my face and my left eye is swollen shut which is a nuisance. Just as well God gave me two eyes as the other one is working quite well lol. Hugs.

I spent my 84th birthday and also Thanksgiving in the hospital this year. Not fun! Had a fractured twisted spine. Doing much better now and doing some walking in my house on my own--but with the walker close by!
