I will have to try the warm water with lemon. Maybe it will help ease the pain I have in my left knee. I limp often because of the pain. Thanks everyone for the idea!! Bless you all!!
Good! even a little help means a lot sometimes. I just got back from the grocery store where I bought some lemons, I'm going to start tomorrow.

At the beginning of each day I have a warm mug of water with half a lemon squeezed into it and a little sugar, lovely drink and it is doing wonders for my arthritis.

Lemon in warm water without sugar first thing will also help keep you regular. Here in Spain it's a standard prescription for the over 50 crew. What do you call that wooden lemon-squeezer thing in the picture? I was taught to call it a "lemon reamer" but people laugh when I say that.

Maybe I should try the lemon-water for my arthritis too. Does it upset the stomach from the acid? I am not much for lemons as most citrus fruits make me ill. Have a blessed week-end.

Hi mamag, I think because it is warm water and not boiling water may stop the acid for reacting with the stomach. I don't have any problems there. Hugs.

Mamag, any citrus would be fine, maybe a lime or orange would be gentler. taking the juice of just one fruit in the warm water dilutes it to the place acid shouldn't be a problem. Another good home remedy is a spoonful of olive oil at breakfast.

Thank you aussie and orinoco for the ideas but orinoco, I do not think I could olive oil!!! I like the idea of oranges. I may have to try it and see if it does not help my hands. God bless.

I'm with you KNadineM. Lemons are great - they smell good, they taste good, they're pretty, and they're healthy. Wish I could grow a lemon tree but my climate won't allow it.

Morning Nadine! I agree that there is something really special about ice cold lemon-aid in the summertime--but we still don't know what season is here w/the volatile weathe? I guess we'll just have to add some volka to keep us warm or cool down. Also, LaCroix has an excellent product--sparkling water & fresh lemon ( one of my favorites). No sugar.

I've used La Croix - I do use lemons - my mom used to use lemons to make mayo. Hubby used it to make Aoili. I've used it with fish and Chicken Piccata.
Lemons, when was little my Great uncle Sherman told me if I ate lemons I would never get scurvy so I cut them in half and suck as much of it out as I could so I wouldn't get it. I figured at the age of 5, even though I didn't know what scurvy was; I didn't want it! LOL!
