Lightening causes so many wild fires and so many homes to be lost in my area and this is the start of fire season. we are fortunate to have had a wetter than average year
Quite a storm. Don't like lightening. I try to be home when I know a storm is coming. We have quite a few of these kind of storms in the summer because it is our rainy season.
Any one watch the weather channel and hear them comment about thunder snow? I made a remark years, and I mean years ago about it thundering during a snow storm and people laughed at me until it happen. They were surprised but it does happen.
I've heard it too, first time it happened went down & asked hubby if he heard it too. I usually move downstairs when we have lightening & the attic is only about 3ft high above the area the bed is upstairs in our room, he just laughs at me.

Here in Connecticut last during last Thursday's Nor'easter, the entire state experienced thunder snow. It's incredible and seems so out of place with peaceful snowfall.

It's really hot for Feb. here we were at 88 today, set and all time high for us!! Some of the sw part the state had temps in the 90"s.
What an awesome photo shot! I have never been able to catch a sky like that. Of course, we seldom get that kind of storm here in our valley. Not a lot of thunder and lightening most of the time but once on a while...We had lightening strike a redwood tree right here in our mobile park that caused major damage to three of the homes. If that's what it takes to get a photo like this, I'd just as soon not.
I used to be scared of lightening as a child. I lived with my grandmother who was terrified of it. Then I came to Canada. My mom loved the stuff and would watch from a window. That's what she did, sat beside me at a window and we watched the lightening. A few times of that and I was "fixed". I admit though, I do throw the sheets, blankets over my head when it's at night. I still haven't "fixed" that feeling.
God bless you all.
